Ordinary Miracles- Renovations Restorative cookies Red Peppers

Really it is too exciting!  Preparations for the kitchen renovations have begun! Big plans for the heart of the house. Of course, in the way of renovations, we begin in the basement. Because that is where the cabinets will be made and stored.

The plan is the 2 hour a day plan. (she winks slyly) Ok 6 …but really that is it. So . If you don’t see any postings here for days you will know how may hours a day and pretty much what I am doing.

It is kind of a big job. We plan on …taking out the ceiling, removing a wall, replacing the cabinets, and putting in a fir plank floor.  I also would love the cement counter top idea.  I am the only one in this house, I am told, that is imagining that this can be done in 2 hour segments.    (remember the sly wink?)

This is what happened from taking out a wall in the basement.  2 hour job?

I find renovations invigorating. You just never know what is behind the wall, under that underlay! We have had great luck so far… the floors were fir planks. They came up beautiful. I will post a picture…

in the meantime…have a

Cookie! These have everything… oatmeal, oat bran, chopped dates, coconut, raisins, figs, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, salbo, ground flax, wheat bran, brown sugar, a swish of flour… egg, and butter, and baking powder.  Two of them and a glass of milk.. breakfast!

And for dinner..LoML’s STUffed RED PEPPERS

Ground beef, bread cubes, onions… that is all I know because then he takes it from there.  They are incredibly good.  So good that sometimes, even after a couple meals of them… we make some more!

  1. The stuffed peppers look yummy! The cookies are heavenly (I so want some of those!). The renovations look a nightmare to this old lazy girl!
